ALARM SYSTEM GSM/GPRS BACK-UP


The GSM/GPRS backup option is a cost effective way for a dialer alarm to send a signal to the Monitoring Centre receivers in the event that the primary communications line is not operating.


Line failures can occur for a number of reasons such as a deliberate action or severe storm damage. By utilizing the GSM/GPRS backup option, the ability of the alarm system to communicate in the event of a main line fail is increased. The alarm system monitors the main line for connectivity, and when it is lost, the GSM/GPRS can take over, allowing the continuation of vital alarm signals to be sent to the Monitoring Centre.
